About us - Innovation Bay

Innovationbay was created in 2003 by Ian Gardiner, Managing Director of Viocorp, Randal Leeb du-Toit serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist (Metarand.com) and Phaedon Stough, CEO of Mitchellake Consulting.

Innovation Bay is a not-for-profit group of entrepreneurs and business leaders who come together to discuss issues and share experiences within a casual, open and informal environment.


Innovation Bay is an invitation only group, gathering for intimate breakfast and dinner events with selected guest speakers.

Our members are made up of Entrepreneurs, Senior Business Leaders and Venture Capitalists throughout Australia, with a strong technology focus.

Many of our events focus on sharing experiences and answering questions like:
- What has made this business successful?
- What hurdles were overcome to achieve succes?
- Why was a certain path chosen rather than another?

Our speakers are carefully chosen for the relevance to our group, what they have achieved and their interest in helping others.



Why is Innovationbay invitation only?



Innovationbay is invitation only so as to maximize the experience for our members and create an open and collaborative environment in which to share information and experience. Our members seek an informed and passionate environment where they are able to enjoy and benefit from an open, collective membership of thought leaders. The majority of our speakers are successful entrepreneurs talking about what has made them successful, the journey travelled and their expectations and predictions for the future.

Typical event types



Breakfast Events
Our breakfast events are open to all members. They traditionally start at 7:30am and run to 9am. Commencing with open networking, an informal presentation from our guest speaker, questions and mingling. We ask all attending members to contribute $10 each to cover event costs.
Dinner Events
Seats at our dinner events are limited to 18 people and provide a more intimate environment in which to network and engage with our speaker and group. Dinner prices vary based upon location, but generally range from $160 to $200 per head.


Event Notification



All members will receive email alerts with details of our up and coming events. We ask all members to RSVP to our events so that we can determine catering requirements. Confirmation is only sent for dinner events where seating is limited.
