Nuheara and Their ASX Listing with Justin Miller 25.09.2017

On Tuesday, 12th September the Perth startup and innovation community had the opportunity to hear the story of local startup, Nuheara.

Held as part of Innovation Bay Perth’s breakfast speaker series, Justin Miller, founder and CEO of Nuheara, shared the company's journey from early-stage startup to ASX-listed company.

Nuheara is most widely known for the revolutionary wireless earbud product it launched in 2016, IQbuds™. A rival to Apple’s own airPods, IQBuds™ allow cable-free connection smart devices, as well as built in “proprietary and multi-functional intelligent hearing technology that augments a person’s hearing.”

Whilst Justin and his team have shipped $2.5m in just over a year, the journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing.

To date, the company has successfully raised $20 million, through a combination of private equity, crowd-funding and in 2015, a reverse take-over (RTO) on the ASX. A bump in the road in Nuheara’s journey occured in 2015, when ASIC blocked their first attempt at an RTO.

Today, Justin is focussed on continuing to grow the business and is committed to the company's broader mission to develop a hearing device company that would improve people’s lives. A key enabler of the company's success, Justin said, is the talent and support the company has been able to attract to the project, including a total of 7 PhDs, as well as the support from Curtin University.
